Plymouth was part of Waterbury, Connecticut. It then became Northbury and eventually became Plymouth. There are over 560 graves in this burial ground. It has been closed since the end of the 19th century. All records were lost over 200 years ago. The earliest grave is said to be about 1739. Buried here are residents as well as Veterans from the Revolutionary War, The French and Indian War and the War of 1812. It was vandalized and many stones were destroyed. Many have sunk into the ground and many can no longer be read. I am attempting to photograph all the markers and put together a searchable data base to enable folks to connect with their past and restore the records. This will be a long process so, keep checking for updates.
