The Old Chair

In my travels, I try to find the 'interesting' in the mundane. I came upon an old abandoned homestead in Negra (one of those ghost towns no longer on the maps, New Mexico. The homestead was once very beautiful, but time had taken it's toll as well as vandalism. But there was something about it locked it in a different time. A time of prosperity, now long gone by. This simple old chair, propped leaning against the wall gave me pause to to think, how many peaceful hours were spent sitting on this chair and what might have become of the hard working folks that scratched out a life here......
